Hamza Khan stuns Asim Khan to reach CAS International Squash Championship quarters
In a major upset on Tuesday at the Mushaf Squash Complex, Hamza Khan ousted Pakistan’s top squash player Asim Khan in the second round of the CAS Serena Hotels International Squash Championship 2025.
The match concluded 3-1 in favor of Hamza, with game scores of 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-3, lasting 46 minutes.
The victory was one of the highlights of Day 2 of the tournament, which also saw Pakistan stars Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal secure spots in the quarter-finals.
Noor Zaman defeated Adam Hawal of Egypt 3-0 (12-10, 11-9, 11-5) in a 31-minute contest, while Nasir Iqbal overcame seventh-seeded Ibrahim Elkabbani of Egypt 3-1 (11-9, 3-11, 11-8, 11-4) in 46 minutes.

Other notable results included Yassin Shohdy of Egypt defeating Muhammad Ammad of Pakistan 3-2 in a marathon 69-minute match, and David Bernet of Switzerland beating Pakistan’s Anas Shah 3-1.
Top seed Karim El Hammamy of Egypt also progressed with a 3-1 win over Japan’s Tomotaka Endo.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for Wednesday, where the remaining matches will determine the semi-finalists in what promises to be an intense competition.
