Imran Khan's sisters lead sit-in outside Adiala Jail

The sit-in outside Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail led by the sisters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan continued on Tuesday.

Tensions remained high around the demonstration venue after the government authorities refused to allow Khan's sisters to meet him in jail.

According to information from the scene, lights near the factory checkpoint were switched off while the protest was underway, adding to the participants’ concerns.

Police surrounded the sit-in from all sides, maintaining a strong presence as the situation unfolded. With law enforcement positioned around the protesters, reports indicated that an operation may be carried out to end the sit-in.

Despite the heightened atmosphere, PTI founder’s sisters remained on the road, keeping their demonstration ongoing.

Speaking to the media outside Gorakhpur checkpoint, Aleema Khan, who was accompanied by her sisters and hundreds of PTI workers, said: "All of you saw what happened to us last week. Police officers dragged us and threw my sisters into buses and cars. We know the more these police officers misbehave, the more promotions they get. That's why the workers have gathered here in large numbers today. I am encouraged. The workers are with us."

Highlighting the plight of the PTI workers, Aleema said, "The houses of our workers were raided. Now such women are being used for arrests who are a stain on the name of women. Punjab Chief Maryam Nawaz Sharif will reward the misbehaving policemen with promotion. You all should see how long we have been sitting here on the ground. Today too, our meeting with the founder of PTI was not allowed."

Nooreen Khan said these people have lost their seats and they know they are losers. She said she did not have any plan of action; it was PTI people's job to have a plan of action. She said the woman who hit her would pay the price. She said that Imran Khan never mistreated the opposition people when he was in power despite the fact that dozens of people used to meet them. She said that Allama Raja Nasir Abbas was a big supporter
of Imran Khan and his family. She said the people who come here are ready to sacrifice their lives for Imran Khan. She said that Punjab Police were oppressing the PTI workers.
