MQM moves resolution in Sindh Assembly against Indian defence minister’s remarks
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Tuesday submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly strongly condemning the recent statement by India’s Defence Minister, calling it misleading and in violation of international norms. The resolution was submitted by MQM lawmaker Amir Siddiqui.
According to the text of the resolution, Siddiqui emphasised that Sindh is “an integral part of Pakistan” and reaffirmed that the people of Sindh “stand with Pakistan and will continue to stand.”
The resolution described the Indian minister’s remarks as a deliberate attempt to escalate regional tensions and undermine diplomatic standards. Siddiqui urged the federal government to take up the matter internationally and formally raise the issue before global forums, holding India accountable for irresponsible and provocative rhetoric.
He stated that such statements not only distort historical realities but also pose a challenge to peace and stability in South Asia.
