A five-member delegation from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) arrived in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday for a technical discussion, following an invitation from the European Commission to observe the prospect of removing a flight ban on PIA flights to Europe in the near future, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per the sources, European Union authorities will be briefed on the measures taken by PCAA and the delegation will make their best effort for the restoration of PIA flights to Europe.

The CAA delegation will update the authorities from the European Safety Agency and the Deputy DG Regulatory Heads of the European Commission on the status of the Pilot's License, Oversight, and Registration.

In the technical session, Director License CAA will inform the European authorities about suspicious pilots and the measures taken in this regard.

According to sources, the CAA has been unable to reinstate PIA flights to European nations despite the passing of two and a half years due to the officials' inefficiency.

Unluckily, Civil Aviation Authority has not been able to provide enough explanations to convince the European Safety Agency and European Commission since the tragic event occurred in July 2020.

In today's crucial meeting, CAA will make one more effort to logically convince the European authorities.

The national career has lost Rs 150 billion over a period of two and a half years as a result of the CAA officials' inefficiency and the ban in European nations, according to PIA sources.
