Keith Urban stays silent on Nicole Kidman split

Keith Urban remained every bit the professional while filming his new CBS reality series The Road, despite his highly publicized split from wife Nicole Kidman.

According to Daily Mail, contestants on the show revealed that the 57-year-old country superstar kept his personal turmoil completely under wraps throughout production.

The show, which follows 12 aspiring country musicians competing for a grand prize while touring alongside Urban, was filmed between February and April across Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

Country singer Billie Jo Jones, one of the contestants, shared that Urban never once showed signs of distress during filming, even though he was quietly navigating the breakdown of his marriage.

“You wouldn’t even know he was going through anything,” Jones said. “He definitely pushed personal stuff aside and was all business professional the entire time, which is what a true artist should be doing.”
On September 30, Urban’s wife Nicole Kidman officially filed for divorce after reports surfaced that the couple had been living apart for several months. Despite the split, the Somebody Like You singer appeared composed and focused while working on The Road, which premiered on October 19.

Jones described working with Urban as “a dream come true,” calling him an encouraging mentor who genuinely wants the best for others.

“He’s one of those people that really pushes you to be your best self,” she added.

In the debut episode, Urban opened up about the challenges of life on the road, hinting at the emotional toll of being away from family. He and Kidman share two daughters — Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

“You wake up sick and lonely on a tour bus and still have to perform — the only answer to why you do it is because it’s what you’re born to do,” Urban reflected during the show.
Fans were quick to speculate that his performance of Straight Line on the premiere might be a subtle nod to his personal life and recent heartbreak.

Meanwhile, Jones said she could relate to Urban’s experience, as she too spends months away from her family performing up to 140 shows a year.

“It’s hard, but it’s worth it,” she said. “God didn’t give me this voice to keep it at home. He gave it to share with others.”
