Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed was voice of suppressed segments: Ch Parvez Elahi
Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain has said that by promoting tolerance in politics they are carrying forward the mission of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed. He said Ch Zahoor Elahi was the voice of all four provinces.
In his special message on the occasion of the 40th death anniversary of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed, Ch Shujat Hussain said that Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed spent all his life standing by the truth and struggle. He said he fully participated in all movements in support of Pakistan including Tehrik Khatam-e-Nubawwat.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi, in his address to a gathering, said today they pledge that Allah may grant them the opportunity for undertaking such works which pleased Allah. He said that Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed always became the voice of the oppressed segment and fought against exploiting segment. He said he never compromised on his principles and he was a personality with a soft heart, who felt for the others and this was the reason that even after 40 years his name was being mentioned respectfully.
In the function, former federal minister Ch Wajahat Hussain, former District Nazim Gujrat Ch Shafaat Hussain, Federal Water Resources Minister Moonis Elahi, MNA Salik Hussain, and Shafay Hussain were also present among a large number of party leaders and workers.
Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi while thanking the party leaders and workers participating in the death anniversary gathering said that his memory would always live in peoples’ hearts.
On this occasion, MPAs Ch Abdullah Yousuf, Shujahat Nawaz Ajnala, former Education Minister Mian Imran Masood, Khalid Asghar Ghural, Ch Saadat Nawaz Ajnala, Atif Azmat Syed, Peer Shamim Bokhari, Ch Ziaullah Warraich were among a large number of people present.
Quran khawani and fateha khawani were organized for Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed and other departed souls of the family and special prayer was also offered for early and complete recovery of ailing Ch Shujat Hussain.
