Pakistani drama serial Hey Fam has landed in the middle of an online copying debate after viewers spotted striking similarities between one of its viral scenes and Dananeer Mobeen’s iconic ‘Pawri ho rahi hai’ moment that took social media by storm in 2021.
A latest clip from the drama has been making the rounds online, featuring three sisters who visit a chaotic shopping sale but end up returning home empty-handed. When a news reporter asks them about their experience, one of the sisters delivers a hilariously frustrated response that quickly becomes the centre of attention.
“Paisay gaye, time gaya, self-respect gaya, kuch nahi mila... bas trauma mila,” she says, translating to: “Money gone, time gone, self-respect gone, nothing gained... only trauma gained.”
Interestingly, the drama takes the viral moment even further within its storyline. The fictional interview starts circulating online, is remixed into a catchy song and is subsequently recreated by internet users across the country, turning the character into an overnight sensation.
The storyline has now prompted viewers to draw comparisons with Dananeer Mobeen’s real-life rise to fame through her viral ‘Pawri Ho Rahi Hai’ video.
Back in 2021, Dananeer shared a short video with her friends in which she famously said, “Yeh hum hain, yeh hamari car hai, aur yeh hamari pawri ho rahi hai.” The casual clip quickly went viral across social media and inspired countless recreations and memes.
The trend received another major boost when Indian music producer Yashraj Mukhate transformed the viral dialogue into a catchy musical remix, further amplifying the phenomenon across the region.

With Hey Fam now presenting a fictional character whose casual interview follows a remarkably similar path from an unexpected viral clip to a musical remix and nationwide recreations social media users have begun questioning whether the resemblance is simply coincidental or a deliberate nod to a well-known chapter of Pakistani internet culture.
The debate has already spilled into the comments section, with some viewers openly accusing the drama of copying Dananeer’s viral trajectory.
