Pakistan reports 4,825 new coronavirus cases with 70 deaths
Another 70 people succumbed to coronavirus in the past 24 hours (Monday) as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 17,187 that represents a ratio of 2.1%, the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
Pakistan also reported 4,825 new coronavirus cases that emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 50,161 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 800,452 that returned positive after conducting 11,588,932 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 89,219 with 4,862 patients in critical condition.
There were 4,234 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 694,046 with an 86.7% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 2,190 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 290,788 with 47,129 active cases. In Punjab, 26 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 7,990. With 2,014 new recoveries, 235,669 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh has recorded 952 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 278,545 with 11,650 active cases. With 6 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 4,599. With 158 new recoveries, 262,296 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 956 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 114,077 with 14,007 active cases. The province reported 31 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 3,134. With 1,421 new recoveries, 96,936 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 125 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 21,743 with 1,225 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remains 232. With 127 new recoveries, 20,286 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 469 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 73,450 with 12,792 active cases. With 5 new deaths reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 665. With 402 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 59,993 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 128 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 16,591 with 2,306 active cases. With one new death reported, the death toll reached 462. There were 109 new recoveries in the AJK as 13,823 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 5 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 5,258 with 110 active cases. With one new death reported in the province, the death toll reached 105. There were 3 new recoveries reported as well as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reaches 5,043.
