British High Commissioner Christian Turner Tuesday called on Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The British High Commissioner congratulated Marriyum Aurangzeb on taking over as Information Minister.

The British High Commissioner expressed his desire to work together to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting discussed the development of bilateral diplomatic relations, including cooperation in various fields of media, digital media, media training and film.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that fake news is a big challenge for the whole world including Pakistan.

Turner congratulated the Information Minister on the 75th anniversary of Pakistan.

The meeting also agreed to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

There will be special celebrations on Independence Day on August 14 in Pakistan and UK embassies and in London, said Marriyum Aurangzeb.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Pak-UK relations are growing in 75 years, hoping to further strengthen bilateral ties in the future.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom are based on mutual respect and common views on a wide range of regional and international issues, adding that Pakistan values this relationship.
