Pakistan, China vow to bolster defence cooperation

Pakistan and Chinese defence chiefs have held in-depth and detailed talks in Beijing and vowed to bolster their military to military cooperation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munuir on his first day of official visit to China was given a warm welcome and was presented with the guard of honour at the PLA Army Headquarters.

The Army Chief reviewed the smartly-turned out contingent which was later followed by a detailed meeting with the Commander of PLA Army, in which matters of mutual security interests and military cooperation were discussed.

Both the military commanders reiterated the need for maintaining peace and stability in the region and enhancing military to military cooperation. 

General Asim Munir also witnessed a demonstration of the operational capabilities of the PLA Army troops.

He praised the high standards of training and the professionalism displayed by the soldiers. 

The COAS will hold further meetings with military leaders in China to enhance the longstanding relations between the two militaries. 

The inaugural meets are part of four-day visit of the COAS to China.
