LHC orders Rs100,000 fine imposition for wasting water

The Lahore High Court has ordered imposition of Rs100,000 fine on any of the private housing societies found responsible for wasting water, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During hearing in smog eradication case on Friday, the court further ordered to speed up action against such housing societies in order to save water and to ensure the implementation of court orders.
Moreover, the court also ordered to start cleanliness awareness campaign with the help of school students and parents from 1st of May which is also International Labour Day.
The court remarked that our country is our real home and not the home where we live.
Justice Shahid Karim heard the case related to smog remediation.
Deputy Attorney General Asad Ali Bajwa appeared before court in the case while the members of the Environment Commission submitted an implementation report on the court orders.
The court adjourned further hearing of the court till May 3.
