Two soldiers martyred, 15 militants killed in three engagements in KP

Two soldiers were martyred and 15 militants were killed in three engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

An intelligence based operation was conducted by the security forces in Karak District on reports of presence of militants in the area. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militants and killed eight of them.

In an another operation in North Waziristan District, four militants were killed by the security forces. However, during the intense fire exchange, two soldiers, Lance Naik Usman Mohmand (age 28 years, resident of District Charsadda) and Sepoy Imran Khan (age 26 years, resident of District Kurram), were martyred.

In another encounter that took place in general area Gomal Zam, South Waziristan District, troops neutralized three militants.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead militants, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities.

Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any remaining militants in the area.
