Hot and dry weather to persist in most parts of Pakistan

Hot and dry weather is expected to persist across most parts of Pakistan tonight, with little relief for residents as temperatures remain high in several regions.

According to the forecast, similar conditions are likely to continue on Monday, with daytime temperatures staying elevated in many areas. However, some regions may experience a change in weather later in the day.

In Islamabad, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry during the day, while partly cloudy conditions may develop in the evening or night. There is a 40 percent chance of light rain accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers in isolated areas.

Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts are likely to experience hot and dry weather, though rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms is forecast for several regions including Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, Peshawar and surrounding areas during the evening and night.

In Punjab, hot and dry conditions are expected to dominate. Regions such as Rawalpindi, Murree and the Galiyat may see rain with strong winds later in the day, while southern districts including Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan could experience partly cloudy skies and isolated showers.

Balochistan will also remain largely hot and dry, although northern and western areas, including Quetta and Zhob, may receive rain with thunderstorms in the afternoon.

In Sindh, intense heat is likely to persist in most districts. However, upper areas may experience partly cloudy weather, strong dusty winds and isolated thunderstorms with light rain.

Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to see partly cloudy conditions, with chances of rain and thunderstorms in upper districts during the evening and night.

The highest temperatures recorded on Sunday were 47°C in Shaheed Benazirabad and Sakrand, while Dadu and Mithi recorded 46°C, reflecting the intensity of the ongoing heatwave across the country.
