Iranian President Pezeshkian rejects “forced negotiations” with America

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday said that his country will not take part in what he described as forced negotiations with the United States, stressing that talks under pressure are unacceptable.

According to Iranian government sources, the remarks were made during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. 

The Iranian president said that previous negotiations with Washington had increased mistrust rather than resolving disputes.

He stated that Iran would not engage in dialogue while facing threats and sanctions, adding that trust could only be restored if hostile actions were brought to an end.

Pezeshkian also called for the removal of restrictions and what he described as a blockade, saying that such measures must be lifted before meaningful talks could resume.

The Iranian president emphasised that any future diplomatic process would require the United States to address existing barriers and create a more balanced environment for negotiations.

The call comes amid continued regional diplomatic engagement involving Iran and other countries in efforts to address ongoing tensions.
