IGP Punjab directs for timely provision of PPEs to police during Muharram

Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir Wednesday said the process of timely provision of Personal Protection Equipment and implementation of SOPs must be continued for prevention of officers and officials deputed on security duty from coronavirus so that police force may perform the duties of safety of mourners in Majalis, mourning processions during Muharram with full diligence.
He said the district police heads must ensure that safety equipment from Central Police Office COVID - 19 has been provided to officers and officials deputed on security on time and without any delay and also send a report in this regard.
As per the direction of Addl IG welfare and finance, a letter with respect to the distribution of safety equipment has been sent to CCPO Lahore, all city police officers and DPOs.
According to the letter, during Muharram overall 13300 gowns, 22548 surgical masks and 16950 surgical gloves, 1795 litre sanitizers and 2050 goggles have been provided in all districts .
