The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Thursday suspended its flight operation at Quetta Airport due to bad weather amid continuous rains in Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
All the Quetta-bound PIA flights from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad on August 26 were cancelled due to the failure of communication system at the airport.
According to the PIA spokesperson, the Quetta-bound PIA flights including PK310 from Karachi, PK322 from Lahore and PK325 from Islamabad were cancelled.
“The weather and the communication system are being monitored. The flight operation will be started as soon as the weather normalises,” he said.
“Reviving Quetta’s air operation is the top priority as air operation is the only means of communication,” he added.
