Deewan Asghar Bhatti, a former Union Council chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), were shot at and critically injured by his own party men in Zafarwal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to police, the accused identified as Umar Rasheed and Usman Rasheed, who are the sons of former PTI ticket holder from NA-77 Mian Muhammad Rasheed, were involved in firing shots at Deewan Asghar Bhatti.

Deewan received 10 shots in his legs and became critically injured. He was rushed to Narowal District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for treatment.

The firing incident took place on Kutchehry Road. An old dispute was stated to be the reason behind the incident.

It is to be noted here that Mian Muhammad Rasheed is the brother of former Kashmir Assembly MLA Mian Yasir Rasheed.

Zafarwal police registered a case against the accused and started conducting raids for the arrest of the accused.
