Schools closed down in Neelum valley over fear of flood

Fear of releasing water from the Kishanganga Dam in Neelam River, the district administration of Neelum Valley has directed to close all the schools for two days, reported 24 News HD TV channel Friday.
According to sources, there are high flood tides in the Neelum river while Kishanganga Dam, a reservoir built in India-held Kashmir was filled with flood water. It is feared that India can release water from the dam at any time and the situation may become more worsen.
Thus, Deputy Commissioner of Neelum Valley, Khawaja Ejaz Ahmad issued a warning to deal with the emergency situation. He asked the citizens living on the banks of the Neelam River to move to the locations. According to him, schools will remain closed for two days in view of the heavy rain and flood situation.
