Pakistan Peoples Party leader and former member of Sindh Assembly Sharmila Farooqui has received the doctorate degree in the Law, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The PPP leader completed her PhD from Jamia Karachi. She started doing MPhil in 2018 and submitted her thesis in 2020. She got the PhD degree on the basis of her thesis in 2023.

She posted a tweet on X platform announcing that she received her PhD in Law.

Sharmila has been elected member of the Sindh Assembly twice.

She is Usman Farooqi’s daughter, a former bureaucrat and chairman of the Pakistan Steel Mills, and the maternal granddaughter of N M Uqaili, a former finance minister of Pakistan.
