Punjab govt to take 15,000 tablets on rent for socio-economic survey

The Planning and Development (P&D) Board has decided to take 15,000 tablets on rent for a socio-economic survey, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
In this regard, the P&D Board will pay Rs 2,500 per tablet per month. 
The tablets will be taken on rent for one year. The authorities will pay Rs450 million as rent for the tablets.
The tablets will be provided by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
A deal between the P&D Board and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics will be signed soon.
The Punjab Bureau of Statistics and the Urban Unit of Punjab will be given the responsibility of the survey.
Socio-economic data will be collected from house to house.
The data will help the Punjab government in evidence-based policy making.
The government will implement government schemes on the basis of this data to the beneficiaries.
