MQM raises objections against PTI candidates of NA-240
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has lodged a formal objection with the Election Commission against three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates contesting from the NA-240 constituency Karachi South District, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
MQM leader Yasir Uddin submitted a plea to the Returning Officer, alleging that PTI candidates namely Ramzan, Murad Shaikh, and Aleem Adil Shaikh have been involved in anti-state activities.
These three contenders were also allegedly involved in the May 9 riots.
Yasir son of Nasir Uddin is a candidate from PS 108 and 109, areas that fall within the NA-240 constituency, expressed concerns over potential conspiracy by the accused to disrupt the fairness and transparency of the upcoming elections.
The objections against Aleem Adil, Murad Sheikh, and Ramzan are scheduled to be heard by the Returning Officer during the scrutiny days.
