Internet roasts Kartik Aaryan’s Saajanji Ghar Aaye dance in Tu Meri Main Tera
Bollywood stars Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which hit theatres on Christmas, has sparked a social media frenzy, though not entirely in a good way.
Several videos of the duo dancing to Salman Khan’s iconic track Saajanji Ghar Aaye from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai have gone viral, and the internet is unimpressed.

In the film, Kartik makes a grand entry at a function to the nostalgic number, before being joined by Ananya for a dance sequence. The original track, which starred Salman Khan and Kajol, is widely considered legendary, and comparisons were inevitable.

Unsurprisingly, viewers immediately began sharing side-by-side comparison videos of Kartik’s rendition and Salman Khan’s original performance. Reactions ranged from disappointment to outright mockery, with many feeling Kartik could not match the charisma of the Bollywood superstar.
One user wrote, "#KartikAaryan please stop ruining our iconic songs and dance steps. You can't even matched 1 Percent of #SalmanKhan's Swag and Persona." Another commented, "Wtf they remade Sajan ji ghar aaye in that tu meri s**t????"

Fans vented their frustration over Bollywood’s reliance on remakes, with one noting, "Bhai har movie me remake and remix? Its annoying now," while another added, "salman always best."
The sentiment of irreplaceability was echoed repeatedly: "Beta tum se na ho payega… bhai.ki baat alag hai (You won’t be able to do it. There’s something special about bhai)," "Only salman khan," "Sasta Salman khan," "Worst version," "Unmatched and Irreplaceable," and "Bhai is far better than kartik. No one can match that level."

One user even suggested, "Salman & Shahrukh should get copyrights for their hit song."

Directed by Sameer Vidwans, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri also stars Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta, and is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishor Arora under Dharma Productions.
The film had already faced backlash for its recreation of another classic, Saat Samundar Paar.

A review by Hindustan Times summed up the film, saying, "TMMTMTTM is a scenic postcard with no message written on the back. You might stay for the warmth of the veterans, but you will leave still searching for the love the title promised."

The backlash to Kartik’s dance suggests that some Bollywood classics may be too sacred to touch, no matter the star power attempting to revive them.
