Punjab CM to inaugurate Pakistan’s first e-taxi scheme today

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate Pakistan’s first e-taxi scheme today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

In the first phase, 1100 e-vehicles will be provided in the e-taxi scheme.

About 30 percent quota is reserved for women in the e-taxi scheme.

The colour of the vehicle with a lady driver will be different for women in the e-taxi scheme.

In the e-taxi scheme, the Punjab government will pay 50 percent down payment for male drivers and 60 percent for female drivers in the e-taxi scheme.

In the e-taxi scheme, the Punjab government will also pay the registration, fitness test and token tax fees of the vehicles.

The dues of the e-taxi scheme will be paid in five-year easy installments.

To ensure the safety of drivers and passengers, a pink button will be installed in every e-taxi, which will be linked to the Punjab Safe City Authority.

The vehicles of the e-taxi scheme will be registered with InDrive and Yango.

Fast charging points will be installed for charging vehicles at public places.

In the e-taxi scheme facility of digital payments will also be provided.
