Haleem Adil Sheikh becomes new Opp Leader in Sindh Assembly

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Haleem Adil Sheikh has been appointed as the new Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Right after becoming the Opposition Leader, Haleem Adil said that Sindh Chief Minister is answerable to the Prime Minister of Pakistan. “I have learnt a lot from Firdous Shamim Naqvi and soon he will get an important role in the Centre,” he said in a video message.
As per the notification of the Sindh Assembly Secretariat, “On request of (59) Members of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh belonging to Opposition benches amongst them (29) Members belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PT1), (19) Members belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and (11) Members belonging to Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) to declare Haleem Adil Sheikh, MPA as Leader of Opposition.”
Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi had already been resigned from the office of the Leader of Opposition, Provincial Assembly of Sindh.
“The Honourable Speaker, Provincial Assembly of Sindh in accordance of the provisions of Rule 25 (3) of Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh has been pleased to declare Haleem Adil Sheikh as Leader of Opposition, Provincial Assembly of Sindh with effect from 25th January, 2021,” the notification reads.
The Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly is entitled to salary, allowance and privileges admissible to a Provincial Minister under the Sindh Ministers (Salaries, Allowances and Privileges) Act, 1975.
