Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Wednesday said that the party would set out on a long march towards Islamabad from Karachi on February 27 to remove the ‘political rot’ accumulated there, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Sindh Solid Waste Management (SSWM) at Larkana, he said just like other cities of Sindh, Larkana too had the garbage issue. “And when the matter was investigated, it was found out that the number of sanitary workers had not increased in the city since the times of late prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB),” he said, adding, “But now the SSWM personnel will go door to door to collect garbage.”
PPP chairman said the task had been assigned to a Chinese firm since China had been Pakistan’s friend since the times of ZAB.
Bilawal said the Chinese workers of the company were the Sindh government’s guests at Larkana.
He also appealed to the residents of the city to cooperate with the company in order to keep the city neat and clean.
He claimed that ever since Murtaza Wahab had been made Karachi’s administrator, there was an improvement in the city’s cleanliness. “Yes, there are irritants like the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) which remain busy in conspiring against the provincial government. But our job is to get on with our work,” he emphasized.
