Karachi Marathon: Mahnur Fatima wins 10-kilometre race

Special Olympics Pakistan organised a marathon on Aiwan-e-Sadr Road from the Governor House in Karachi, attracting over 4,000 participants, including children, youth, women, and special athletes, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Separate categories were formed for 21 kilometres, 10 kilometres, and 5 kilometres races, with the event starting early at 6:30 AM. Mahnur Fatima emerged victorious in the 10-kilometre marathon race.

Addressing the ceremony, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori highlighted the inclusion of special children in the race and commended their mothers for their efforts.

He expressed gratitude for the prayers of these children, stating, "The prayers of these children have saved the country from its enemies."

The Consul Generals of Iran, Qatar, and the UAE also attended the event. Governor Tesori further shared that children are taking IT courses at the Governor House, enabling them to earn dollars monthly.

He emphasised unity, stating, "This is a message to foreign powers aiming to weaken Pakistan; we all stand together as one." 

The governor reiterated the commitment to uplifting Karachi and promoting Pakistan globally, calling on citizens to contribute to the country's progress.
