Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore has assumed the charge of Vice Chancellor of University of Health Sciences (UHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

Professor Rathore has become the 11th vice-chancellor of the UHC.

The Punjab Governor had appointed the Prof Dr Ahsan Waheed Rathore as a Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences Lahore with effect from 26-07-2022. 

Prof Rathore is a renowned pediatrician, has served as  Dean & Medical Director, Professor Of Paediatrics at The Children Hospital & Institute of Child health, Ferozpur road, Lahore.

He worked as a Former Exective Director- Strategic Management & Internal Policy Unit at Govt of Punjab Specialized Health care & Medical Education Department.

Currently serving as Vice Principal University College of Medicine at University Of Lahore from 21 March 2021.

Prof Rathore Studied at Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.  Prof Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore also hold a fellowship at Royal College of Physician, London.

He passed his MBBS from King Edward Medical College Lahore from 1975-1981

A farewell ceremony was organized here at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Monday in honor of Vice Chancellor Prof. Javed Akram where speaker after speaker described him as a trailblazer and professional par excellence.

The Board of Governors (BoG) Justice (Retd.) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani presided over the event. Prof. Javed Akram will leave his office on July 26 after completing his 4-year term. He was the 10th vice chancellor of UHS.

The 69th syndicate meeting of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Javed Akram. Decisions were made on various administrative and academic matters presented before the member.

Among the members present in the meeting included Vice-Chancellor Professor Javed Akram, Pro-VC Professor Maroof Aziz, Registrar Dr. Asad Zaheer, and representatives of the provincial Health and Finance departments. Prof. Anwaar A. Khan participated through a video link..
