Azlan Shah has addressed a wave of concerns from fans and followers after an old video of him being attacked by his pet lion resurfaced and went viral online.
The alarming clip, which shows the animal enthusiast sustaining injuries during the incident, triggered widespread speculation and worry, with many assuming the incident had occurred recently.
Social media was flooded with messages of concern and prayers for his recovery, as fans believed he had suffered serious injuries in the lion encounter.
However, Azlan took to his Instagram handle to clear the air. In a video statement shared on Friday, he confirmed that the clip is not recent and urged people not to panic.
“This is not a fresh incident,” Azlan clarified in the video.
“It’s an old clip, you can even tell by looking at me. I was much slimmer and younger back then.”
He went on to explain that the viral spread of the video led to a barrage of phone calls and messages from concerned friends, family members, and even neighbours who feared for his well-being.
“So many people, including friends, family and even neighbours reached out to me. They thought something had happened to me again.”
Azlan, nevertheless, thanked his well-wishers for their love, support, and concern, while gently requesting everyone not to jump to conclusions based on outdated content.
The viral video had shown what appeared to be a training or interaction session with one of his lions when things suddenly went wrong.
The clip, though undated, caught viewers' attention for how quickly a calm moment turned dangerous.
