Punjab govt decides to build 1,200 model villages across province

The Punjab government decided to make 1,200 villages of Punjab ‘Model Villages’ under Suthra Punjab and Waste to Value Projects, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

In this regard a special meeting was held which was chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also given briefing on Model Villages, Suthra Punjab and Waste to Value projects.

The meeting also reviewed of progress on the project to make 1,200 villages, model villages in Punjab.

Under the project, 24/7 water supply, complete sewage network and waste management treatment plant will be built in every model village.

Punjab's model village will also have paved streets, road rehabilitation, children's park and tree plantation.

Houses will be numbered and signboards will also be installed in the model villages.

Briefing was also given on solar system-powered water supply model and sewage system for the model villages.

It was briefed that development projects in 130 villages of the pilot phase under the model village project of Punjab have been completed.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called for a deadline for the earliest completion of the model village project.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said priority will be determined by keeping in mind the needs of the people in the model village project. 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said every village under the model village project will be fully developed.
