Gym trainer arrested for attempted sexual assault of 7-year-old boy in Sargodha

Police have arrested a man accused of attempting to sexually assault a seven-year-old boy in Sargodha's Factory Area, officials said.

According to police, the child, identified as Muhammad Hussain, was returning home from tuition when the suspect, identified as Sharif, allegedly stopped him and took him to a vacant plot.

Police said the suspect allegedly attempted to sexually assault the child but fled the scene after local residents arrived.

Factory Area Police responded immediately after receiving information about the incident and registered a case on the complaint of the minor's aunt.

SHO Factory Area Ammar Khan, along with a police team, arrested the accused within a few hours of the incident.

According to the police, the suspect works as a gym trainer. Investigators said footage related to the incident has also surfaced and is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police said further legal proceedings are underway.
