PPP penalises Shujaat Kazmi for contesting AJK election against party candidate

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has cancelled the basic membership of Syed Shujaat Ali Kazmi for contesting the election as an independent candidate against the party's official nominee in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to a PPP spokesperson, the action was taken over what the party described as a serious violation of its constitution and organizational discipline.

The spokesperson said the decision to revoke Shujaat Ali Kazmi's basic membership came into effect immediately.

The PPP stated that disciplinary proceedings were initiated against Kazmi after he deviated from the party's decisions by entering the electoral contest as an independent candidate.

Reaffirming the party's stance on internal discipline, the spokesperson said the PPP would make no compromise on its constitution, organizational discipline, or party principles.
