US congressmen commend Pakistan's diplomatic efforts and visit PSCA

United States Congressmen Michael Baumgartner and Ryan Zinke have praised Pakistan's efforts to facilitate dialogue between the United States and Iran while expressing confidence that relations between the two countries are continuing to strengthen.

Speaking to the media during their visit to Islamabad, Congressman Michael Baumgartner commended Pakistan's constructive diplomatic engagement with the United States and Iran, as well as its efforts concerning the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

He said Pakistan-US relations were moving in a positive direction, with expanding people-to-people contacts and growing business ties that were broadening the relationship beyond its traditional security focus.

Congressman Ryan Zinke said communication between US President Donald Trump, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remained strong. He added that bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States were currently at their strongest.

During their visit, the two congressmen also toured the Punjab Safe City Authority, where they were welcomed by Managing Director Muhammad Ahsan Younas. The delegation received a detailed briefing from Muhammad Ahsan Younas and Chief Operating Officer Mustansar Feroz on the authority's responsibilities, operational capabilities and key achievements.

Officials also briefed the delegation on the authority's artificial intelligence-based surveillance systems and recent technological upgrades. The visitors were informed that thousands of advanced cameras are monitoring key locations across Punjab and that the authority works closely with police and other law enforcement agencies to improve public safety.

The delegation was further introduced to the authority's system that allows members of the public to report crimes and suspicious activities directly. Officials said the visit reflected the continued efforts by Pakistan and the United States to strengthen bilateral cooperation and deepen institutional ties.
