A man was killed and another wounded when a runaway bogie of a goods train hit them in Wazirabad Friday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The free run of the bogie was triggered by a powerful thunderstorm on Wednesday night and the bogie detached from the good train and sped away.

During its out-of-control rolling through intersections, the bogie crushed a man to death while injuring another.

The railway officials in Wazirabad brought the bogie to a halt and returned it to the yard of the goods train.

The cabin man could not notice the small bogie getting detached and running away due to the windstorm and pitched darkness.

The accident took place near the Jalalpura railway crossing.
