Earthquake tremors shake parts of Balochistan

Several parts of Balochistan were jolted by a series of earthquakes on Friday, with the strongest tremor measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, 24NewsHD TV reported. 

According to seismic monitoring authorities, the most powerful earthquake struck at a depth of 17 kilometres, with its epicentre located about 60 kilometres northeast of Kohlu.

Officials said a total of three earthquakes, measuring 5.1, 5.0, and 4.2 in magnitude, were recorded in the region.

One of the tremors had its epicentre approximately 57 kilometres northeast of Sibi, while the other two originated about 60 kilometres and 65 kilometres northeast of Kohlu, respectively.

The tremors were felt in several surrounding areas, causing panic among residents, many of whom rushed out of their homes and buildings as a precaution.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or significant property damage, while authorities continued to monitor the situation and assess any possible impact.
