One suspected dacoit killed in Karachi police encounter, two accomplices escape

Karachi police claimed that a criminal was killed in a police encounter in Karachi's Central District after an exchange of fire with law enforcement personnel, while his two accomplices managed to escape, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday. 

According to the SSP Central, the encounter began when personnel of the Shaheen Force Samanabad signalled three suspicious motorcyclists to stop within the limits of Samanabad police station.

Instead of complying, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police and attempted to flee.

Police chased the fleeing suspects, and the pursuit ended near the Byco petrol pump in Block D, North Nazimabad, where an exchange of gunfire took place.

During the encounter, one of the suspects was killed, while the remaining two escaped.

Police recovered a weapon and the motorcycle used by the deceased suspect from the scene.

The body was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
