Pakistan facilitates release and repatriation of 22 more Iranian crew members detained by US
Pakistan has facilitated the release and safe arrival of 22 more Iranian crew members who had been detained by US authorities, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Friday.
In a post on X, Dar said the 22 Iranian crew members of the vessel Lenore/Davina safely reached Karachi earlier in the day.
"I am happy to inform you that twenty-two (22) Iranian crew members of the vessel Lenore/Davina, detained by US authorities, have safely reached Karachi this afternoon. Alhamdulillah," Dar wrote.
He said arrangements are being finalized in close coordination with Iranian diplomatic missions in Pakistan to ensure the crew members' early and safe repatriation to Iran.

The deputy prime minister said Pakistan remained in constant contact with both US and Iranian authorities throughout the process to facilitate the release and transfer of the detained crew members.
According to Dar, this is the fourth group of Iranian crew members whose repatriation has been facilitated by Pakistan over the past two months. With the latest group, more than 70 Iranian nationals have been assisted in returning home through Pakistani territory.
Dar expressed gratitude to the Iranian leadership for placing its trust in Pakistan and appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other Pakistani institutions.
He praised the professionalism, dedication and tireless work of the Foreign Office team and all relevant state institutions, saying their coordinated efforts ensured the safe, smooth and timely return of the Iranian crew members.
