Although the cops in Pakistan in general and the Punjab Police, in particular, are not famous for their soft approach or attitude, there are always some exemptions.

The latest example is of an SHO [Station House Officer] from Gujranwala who distributed his entire salary among the labourers.

The incident got attention as his video went viral on social media, in which he can be seen giving away money to the labourers.

The People’s Colony SHO, Adnan Ejaz, distributed the money among those sustaining on the earnings they make on a daily basis, commonly known as daily wagers.

As dozens of them were waiting for the people on the roadside so that they could be hired for work, the police asked to leave and go to their homes due to the lockdown imposed in the province. But they refused, saying they don’t anything to eat at their homes.

However, the SHO sent his driver with money for distributing among the people.

Adnan says the labourers left for their homes after that, adding that he felt genuine satisfaction after this act.
