Senate chairman donates three-month salary to emergency fund

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani announced on Thursday he would donate his three-month salary to the coronavirus emergency fund.
According to a spokesman for him, other senators will donate their one month salary to the emergency fund on Sanjrani’s directions.
Also, officers of grade 20, 21 and 22 would donate their five-day salary to the emergency fund and officers of grade 17 to 19 would donate three-day salary. Staff of grade 7 to 16 would donate one-day salary to the emergency fund.
Sanjrani said the upper house of the parliament had taken such decisions in a very critical time in the country, adding that coronavirus spread in the country can be controlled only by taking hard decisions. He requested people to stay home so that the government can take care of patients.
The Senate chairman lauded the steps being taken by the government and said all resources would be used to control the situation. He said that other institutions and affluent segments of the society should also come forward and help the country and its people in this time of emergency.
