A stampede broke out on Sunday during the distribution of free wheat flour to the people in Mardan that had resulted in injuring several, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The people said that the mismanagement marred the distribution of free Atta at the distribution center set up at the Sports Complex in Mardan.

They said the people queued up for the wheat flour and a stampede occurred when they jumped the queue.

The situation became worsen when the administration tried to control the situation. The angry mob blocked Mardan main road.

They also pelted stones at the police and sports complex gates.

The police have to baton charge and aerial firing to disperse the crowd. As a result of which several people were injured.
