Punjab govt abolishes remuneration for board members of govt, semi-govt and autonomous bodies 

As a part of austerity measures, Punjab government has decided to completely abolish remuneration for board members of government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

According to a notification issued by Finance Ministry, no board member will be paid a meeting attendance fee for the next two months. The government and private nominated members also included in the scope of the decision. 

Finance Department has given instructions to all institutions for immediate implementation of the order and in this regard reports has been sought from all relevant departments, including specialized healthcare. 

It is mandatory to submit details of board meetings and confirmation regarding implementation on new decisions. The government's aim is to reduce expenditure and strengthen financial discipline. Finance Department.
