US-Iran indirect talks taking place through messages, says Pakistan

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said Thursday that indirect negotiations were being held to end the war in Middle East, using Islamabad as an intermediary, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Ishaq Dar described speculation about "peace talks" as "unnecessary", adding: "In reality, US-Iran indirect talks are taking place through messages being relayed by Pakistan.

"In this context, the United States has shared 15 points, being deliberated upon by Iran. Brotherly countries of Turkiye and Egypt, among others, are also extending their support to this initiative," he wrote on X.

“Pakistan remains fully committed to promoting peace and continues to make every effort to ensure stability in the region and beyond. Dialogue and diplomacy is the only way forward,” the deputy prime minister remarked.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar spoke late Wednesday night with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the latest regional developments.

The deputy PM underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic efforts for de-escalation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability.

Both sides agreed to remain in close contact, a press statement issued by the Foreign Office Spokesperson said on Thursday.
