Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has lamented increase in novel coronavirus patients and COVID-19 death rate in the country’.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Opposition Leader called for an immediate meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) to review the COVID-19 situation.
“Had the strategy been effectively implemented before the lockdown was eased, the number of victims would not have increased exponentially.”
He said that don't waste time and make a comprehensive national strategy. “Let the nation know about the testing data, what is the strategy to stop the spread? Keeping in view the growing number of patients in hospitals? Let the nation know.”
“Time is passing fast, as per the circumstances attention should be paid to the relevant aspects so that the losses can be minimized,” he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said that repentance, blaming the fate should not be the policy as losses can be reduced with better measures.
“The people are urged to take precautionary measures otherwise the situation is getting out of hand,” the PML-N president said that.
“Given the latest situation, re-determine the strategy,” he advised.
