Two suspects were taken into custody in an injured condition following an ‘encounter’ with Karachi airport police, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur told the media both the suspects, Asim and Azhar Ahmed, had been shifted to a hospital.

The SSP further said those arrested had opened fire at the cops patrolling the area surrounding the airport on motorbikes. “Illegal arms, ammunition, cellphones and a stolen motorcycle have been recovered from them,” SSP Bahadur said, and added, “The motorcycle recovered is without a number plate.”

He informed that police were trying to obtain the criminal record of those taken into custody. “The weapons recovered from the suspects has been sent for the forensic,” the SSP concluded.
