Pakistan women beat Sri Lanka to win T20I series

May 26, 2022 09:38 PM

Ayesha Naseem and Bismah Maroof scored 70 runs together as Pakistan women beat Sri Lanka women by seven wickets in second T20I to win three-match series, with a match to go.

Set to chase 103 runs, Pakistan lost three early wickets but skipper Bismah and Ayesha supported Green Shirts' batting. Bismah remained not out for 22 while Ayesha walked out being not out for 45.

Achini Kulasuriya, Oshadi Ranasinghe, and Inoka Ranaweera bagged a wicket each for Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Pakistani bowlers put up a decent show as Sri Lanka were restricted to 102-6 in second T20I here at Southend Club on Thursday.

Pakistani skipper Bismah lost the toss again and his team was put into bowl first. But, the decision once again backfired for the visitors as they were forced at back foot.

Opener Hasini Perera fought hard but wickets falling at the other end kept building pressure. Perera scored 35 runs off 51 balls including three boundaries.

Nilakshi de Silva made 21 runs but it weren't enough to take Sri Lanka to a big total.

For Pakistan, Anam Amin, Fatima Sana, Nida Dar, Aiman Anwer, and Tuba Hassan bagged a wicket each.
