Kourtney Kardashian’s stepdaughter Alabama Barker sparks outrage with bold backyard shoot

Alabama Luella Barker, the 19-year-old daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and stepdaughter of Kourtney Kardashian, has ignited controversy online following a provocative photo shoot over Memorial Day weekend — and it's not just the bold poses that have critics talking.

The shoot, staged in the backyard of Travis Barker’s $2.8 million mansion in The Oaks of Calabasas, featured Alabama in revealing outfits, with one particular pose — on her hands and knees — drawing widespread backlash for being overly sexualized and inappropriate for her age.

In addition to the suggestive imagery, Alabama's appearance sparked further outrage as she wore waist-length braids – a look many online deemed as cultural appropriation.

Social media users condemned her for what they see as repeated attempts to imitate Black culture.

“It’s the braids that’s the problem for me,” wrote one Instagram user.

“Girl wanna be Black so bad,” commented another.

“Damn, she really wanna be Black,” echoed a third.

Earlier, the young influencer was criticized for using a “Blaccent” in her videos, adding to long-standing concerns around her public persona and online behaviour.

“Where are her parents?” asked one Instagram user.

“At your dad’s house is wild,” commented another in reference to her bold posing on family property.

Critics resurfaced Alabama’s July 2023 admission that she had begun using a GLP-1 agonist weight-loss injection, though not Ozempic. She publicly said:

“I’m on weight-loss medication because I’m tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre.”

The statement drew widespread concern at the time over her self-image and the pressure of growing up in the spotlight.
