Zainab Yousaf faces backlash over hateful remarks about cousins
Aspiring model and media personality Zainab Yousaf has come under fire on social media after a clip of her interview went viral, showing her expressing hatred towards her cousins.
The incident occurred during a show when comedian Qaiser Piya asked Zainab if she had found someone even from her cousins, and Zainab’s blunt and controversial reply took both the hosts and viewers by surprise.
She called them “dead” to her and labelled relatives as “toxic.”
Zainab Yousaf said: “God forbid! May it never happen in my life that I like any of my cousins. I hate my aunt’s (Phupo’s) sons, I hate my uncle’s sons, and I hate my maternal cousins.”
She went on: “All are dead for me. Everyone knows how toxic relatives can be. Certain things happened in life that made me realize just how toxic family members are.”
Host Vasay Chaudhry and the female co-host appeared visibly stunned by her remarks.
Social media users condemned Zainab’s comments as disrespectful and unnecessarily aggressive.
Critics argued that instead of confidence, her words reflected a lack of emotional maturity and basic courtesy.
“She is clearly revealing her mother’s upbringing through her lack of manners,” one user commented.
“I feel that she is the one who is actually toxic to her family,” another added.
Other users pointed out the irony of her statements, saying that she failed to consider her own brother could be someone else’s cousin too.
“What was the need to say all this publicly?” questioned one user.
“She sounds abnormal. Her family’s negligence in her upbringing is clearly visible,” wrote another.
