FIA offloads female passenger at Karachi airport over alleged fake marriage documents

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration officials conducted an operation at Jinnah International Airport, offloading a female passenger who was attempting to travel abroad on allegedly fake marriage documents, a spokesperson said on Tuesday.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the passenger, identified as Kiran Manzoor, daughter of Manzoor Masih, was stopped while trying to travel to Oman on a Pakistani passport and a Relative Joining (Resident) visa.

Officials said the passenger was found suspicious during immigration clearance when she claimed she had married a Pakistani citizen named Sujawal and was currently residing with him in Oman.

During examination, the marriage certificate presented by the passenger was found questionable, while its QR code and barcode could not be verified, the spokesperson added.

The woman further stated that she had been married a year ago, however, she failed to provide basic details about her alleged husband and in-laws. Investigators also identified multiple contradictions in her statements and submitted documents.

Based on the suspicious documentation and unsatisfactory responses, the passenger was offloaded and transferred to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Karachi for further legal proceedings.

The FIA spokesperson said the agency continues to take action against individuals involved in illegal immigration, fake documentation, and human trafficking.
