Canadian envoy discusses political situation with Parvez Elahi

Canadian High Commissioner Ms Wendy Gilmour called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi at his residence in Lahore on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On this occasion, First Secretary and Political Officer Ms Jenilee Ward and Honorary Consul General of Canada Lahore Yawar Ali were also present.
During the meeting, the Canadian High Commissioner enquired about the welfare of former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain and also exchanged views about the prevailing political situation and matters of mutual interest.
Thanking the Canadian High Commissioner, Ch Parvez Elahi said that relations between Pakistan and Canada have always remained friendly, this is the reason that large number of Pakistanis including from Gujrat are settled in Canada and playing important role in the progress of Canada, for promoting relations between the two countries peoples contact campaign needs to be enhanced further, he added.
He said that Pakistan is in grip of severe second wave of coronavirus, in view of this online classes have been started in the educational institutions, entertainment places and marriage halls have been closed, the whole world is in the grip of corona, work is not being stopped for workers so that wheels of industry keep running and everyone getting employment opportunity.
The Canadian High Commissioner said that Canada is increasing cooperation with Pakistan in education and health sectors, Pakistan and Canada always have positive relations, promotion of tourism is the best source of further enhancing peoples contact campaign.
She demanded that the way should be paved for solving children's problems in case of marriage with Canadian nationals and cooperation with Pakistani community.
