Adiala Jail authorities respond to 'Indian media reports about Imran Khan's death'

Adiala Jail authorities have strongly dismissed reports circulating in the Indian media about the death of the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, terming these rumours “ridiculous” and “baseless.”

According to officials, the PTI founder—who is currently imprisoned at Adiala Jail—is absolutely fine and in good health. The jail superintendent offered a pointed and somewhat humorous response to the rumours, saying he was “grateful to the Indian media for informing the jail administration,” adding that he had even begun receiving calls from journalists asking about the false reports.

“I checked him myself… Alhamdulillah, he is absolutely fine,” the superintendent said, stressing there was no truth to the claims being aired by Indian outlets. “I pray for his further health. I am saying this with full responsibility.”

The superintendent added that an official press release would be issued shortly, noting that Punjab’s correctional authorities remain in close coordination with national media heads to ensure verified information is shared promptly.

The false reports gained traction earlier in the day, despite the Indian media “showing no evidence of the claim,” jail officials noted, adding that such irresponsible reporting “is often heard from India.”

Authorities reiterated that the PTI founder remains in Adiala Jail and is in stable condition.
