Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari challenged the rejection of his bail application by an accountability court (AC) in a NAB reference, involving ‘dubious transaction’ of over Rs8 billion, in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Zardari prayed to the court to bar the AC from framing charges against him; declaring its verdict, dated October 14, 2021, as null and void and also acquitting him in the case.
It is reminded here that the AC Judge Asghar Ali had rejected the former president’s bail petition and had summoned him for indictment.
